Sandia Motorsports Park invites all Late Models and Modifieds to the 7th annual Salsa 100 and Modified Hot Pepper on October 10, 2009.
The Modified Hot Pepper is 40 laps of hard-running fun paying 1st place at least $1250 and $125 to start. Modified rules are posted on Sandia’s website. $100 quick time qualifier, a hard charger award and prizes for heat leaders, longest haul and various finishes throughout the field. At least $5,500 cash and prizes with a 20 car field. $100 registration by 10/05/09 and $125 registration after 10/05/09. Pit gates open at 10am / grandstands open at noon / racing starts at 2pm. Practice on Friday October 9, 2009 from 2pm to dusk. Modifieds will be required to run transponders and will pill draw for qualifying position - 2 laps to qualify. Rent your transponder from the track or use your own. We have 2 pairs of tires (one to 1st place other not determined) mixed in with the prize money.
The Salsa 100 is a USLMA event and car rules can be found at www.uslma.com. The race will pay 1st place at least $2220, $125 to start. $100 quick time qualifier, double for beating track record of 19.109 set by Jim Sykes, 2006. At least $9,000 cash and prizes with a 20 car field. $150 registration by 10/05/09 and $175 registration after 10/05/09.
