With THUNDER RACEWAY'S Promoter Bob Livingston moving our NMMRA Season Finale to a late afternoon Show, 4 Arizona Sprinters joined 15 of our Members. Unfortunately missing due to mishaps in Aztec the previous Saturday were #2 Santa Fe's Steve Nix & #7 Rich Johnson. 18 Sprints started the 25 Lap Feature as Pole Setter #61x Grants, NM's Bo Baker led the 1st 19 Laps. Starting 8th, youthful shoe #74x Josh Hodges worked the high groove for ther lead in his ORTEGA APPLIANCE Sponsored machine and took home 1st Place monies. Bo's son, #22m Jesse Baker passed him with 3 to go to take 2nd from Bo, Round out the Top 10 were #40x Scott Box, #76 Thomas Stringfellow, 2009 Champion #19 Ronnie Smith, #21p Paul Whitehead, #62 Bill Mitchell, our 2009 Rookie of the Year, #26 Randy Smith & #93 Jon Taylor. #F-2 Aztec's L. C. Kesterson brought out the 2nd Red Flag of the evening when he tagged the No. 3 corner wall & rolled finishing his night. The 1st Red was for #62 Mitchell as he also tagged the Same wall in the 3rd Heat and rolled to the infield; but he made the Main Event.
#19 Ronnie Smith, is our 2009 Champion with 255 Points, #22m Jesse Baker 248 Points and #40x Scott Box 3rd with 235 Points.
They and the other Drivers in our Top 10 will be Honored at our AWARDS BANQUET Sat., Nov. 14, 2009 at Belen, NM' Sheriffs Posse Grounds.
