Late Models, Modifieds and Free Tickets To LEGOLAND® California!
Tucson, Arizona (September 28th, 2009) – The Brick Yard comes to USA Raceway as LEGOLAND® California Resort presents a monster double header this Saturday night. World’s collide as the best drivers in Southwest Late Models and UMP West Modifieds gear up for a must see event of the year.
LEGOLAND California will be on site with lots of great prizes! Race fans will get a chance to win one of twenty five family 4-packs of 1-Day Hopper Tickets and a grand prize trip to LEGOLAND California including four 2-Day Hopper Tickets and a 2 night stay at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa.
After a near four month hiatus, the Southwest Dirt Late Models, presented by Dairy Queen of Arizona, return to Tucson’s super fast USA Raceway. Top drivers from the Southwest will gear up for an action packed Saturday night.
Lonnie Parker Jr. leads the charge with Anthony Madrid trying to close the gap on the final 2009 points chase. Madrid, who will be pulling double duty this weekend, has won three out of the last four races but remains winless at USA. Parker, on the other hand, has dominated the Tucson scene winning three out of four races, however, he remains winless in the last eight races.
Brad Williams and Jeremy Thornton have both logged wins in the series and will join “Canyon” Brad Whitfield as he gets his body in shape for the fast action at USA Raceway.
RC Whitwell will return to USA Raceway as the only driver other than Parker to win in Tucson. Whitwell will be looking to take home the free trip to LEGOLAND as that is one thing that he hasn’t won at USA. Fresh off a seventh place finish in USMTS action, Whitwell will make the long journey home to defend his turf against the invaders of the Southwest Dirt Late Models.
The UMP West Modifieds, presented by Barnett Harley Davidson, join the Late Models for a full night of racing. Whitwell will be pulling double duty and trying to fend off Robert Adams, Brian Clark, Dane Jorgenson and Cody Alverez.
The SWDRA Late Models and The Ump West Modifieds will be joined by Dwarf Cars, AMA Modlites and Hornets. General admission tickets will go on sale at 5pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 7pm
Suite Access Passes which allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway’s VIP Suite are also on sale for only $25.
USA Raceway is located east of Tucson off I-10 exit 268, then 1.6 miles south on Craycroft Road, which turns into Los Reales. For more information please, contact the track at 520-574-8515 or additional information regarding USA Raceway can be found at www.usaraceway.net
