It was a great race. Seems like the track slowed down quite a bit though. We were fast time at the modified shootout earlier this year with a 20.03 and Charlie Wilson set the mod record at last years Hot Pepper with a 19.95. THis year I think pole was a 20.30 so the track was a little slower. As far as the racing, WOW! It was great from start to finish and if there was not drama than we would all have nothing to think about. That is what is great about our sport; fast cars, fierce competition, and a story line in every pit.
The 8 car from Colorado won the race. This guy is fast! He comes every year and normally has a late model as well but I did not see it this year. He started in the second or third row I think. The accident, well, from what I saw nethier driver should be held accountable. It looked like racing to me and thats what happens when fast cars are going through traffic and I have been in the same situation. I think Charlie drove a great race and Shane got a little loose. All in all everyone knows that Charlie had the field covered but kudos to Robert Kapiniski with a great dvive from the back. Next year is gonna be blast with the drivers we have. It was a great show to see and already can't wait for next year.
