Sorry about that, this whole Hurricane Gustav thing has had me very much pre-occupied. Please keep everyone down there in your prayers, my grandma just moved back into her home earlier this summer from the damage due to Katrina and she just had to pack up everything she could and head out yesterday. the family is safe but after speaking with them today, they are very much worried about their homes (tornadoes, flooding etc.) I am being told that a storm surge of 7 feet will be catastrophic in her neighborhood in Slidell, La. (St. Tammany Parish). On to the results: Late Models Top 5 40 laps- NO CAUTIONS!!!! Barnett absorbed most of the impact of the wall nearly head-on while Chiles rolled violently in a barrel-roll type wreck landing on his wheels. Safety crews were on scene IMMEDIALTY and did a wonderful job. Chiles was quickly out of the car and unhurt. Barnett got out on his own and raised both arms in the air to a cheers from the near capacity crowd! The fans at Aztec Speedway were amazing as the donations to the roll-over fund came flowing in. Special thanks to the Lazy Deuce racing team as the wife and mother of #2 Hobby and stock car driver voluntarily ran threw the crowd with Lorenda, Trish and Alissa collecting money that was donated from teh fans of Aztec Speedway to Robbie Chiles. In all, $575 dollars was raised within ten minutes time! Chiles also left with a slinky that was donated from a young boy in the turn one bleachers as well as a candy bracelet from a young lady that wanted to give something but had no money.
