Dirt track racing in New Mexico shifts into high gear on Saturday night as the NMMRA non-wing sprint cars kick off the 2012 season at the lightning-quick Aztec Speedway. Defending champion Scott Box will be looking to get off to a great start with a victory, but he’ll have to contend with some of New Mexico’s best non-wing sprint car drivers, including former NMMRA champs Bo Baker, Tom Ball, Jon Taylor, Steve Nix, and Jason Tanner. Saturday night’s race will be the first of 13 for the NMMRA sprint cars, which will include several events at Aztec as well as NAPA Speedway in Albuquerque.
