Update on Dustin Ford

Well I am happy to say “Uncle Duck” is at Health South over on Jefferson and is doing well. Health South is already expecting him to be ready to go home by month's end! Of course he will still need to do physical rehabilitation and some speech rehabilitation but that's all through an outpatient program. The body is an amazing thing! As for his brain, well he has a little memory loss but it's all un-important items, such as he didn't remember moving back to New Mexico or his "Other Brother" Eric moving out here, luckily he doesn't remember being hit by that truck either! Dusty is eager to get back to work and out to the track, Redburn Tire also offered him a promotion to dispatcher, Dustin reluctantly accepted. Although he told me he would have rather stayed in a service truck, something family and friends could do without, he was excited to get a promotion. This has been such a rollercoaster of a journey for all of us, not long ago we were afraid that we could lose him any minute, and now we are talking and laughing together making plans of going fishing, racing, BBQ’s, and of course our famous drinking nights, months away still but so much closer than any of us had ever imagined after this accident.
