Posted by Mike on 8/7/2006, 3:46 pm The film chronicles the heartwarming efforts of a Long Island based organization called A.N.C.H.O.R. (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation) as they mount a performance of The Wizard of Oz. Rising to the occasion, the cast exudes a sense of wonder, enthusiasm and dedication that reveals the positive impact of community-based efforts to bring joy and purpose to people living with disabilities. For more information and to view a trailer, you can visit the film website at www.yellowbrickroadmovie.com. We’ve also put additional information below this letter and attached a sample flyer. The movie was prominently featured on television this past winter through HBO Family and Cinemax Reel Life, and it’s now finally available on DVD, which our company is distributing. It’s being offered exclusively online through our web store at: http://store.emergingpictures.com. As it is, a portion of all proceeds from DVD sales on our end is being contributed back to the A.N.C.H.O.R. program. Given the reasons behind why this film was made, its important message and in an effort to spread the word, we are also offering a special fundraising program to other groups who want to raise money through DVD sales and by making their constituents aware of the film. For interested organizations, we can provide a special direct link to the store whereby for each DVD sold through the link, we contribute back one dollar to the organization. Examples of ways you could educate your constituents on the film to encourage sales include hosting the link on your website, sending out an e-blast, having information or a story on the film in your regular newsletter, sending out or having flyers available, etc. And we’re happy to work with you to create or tailor any materials you wish to send or hand out. Interviews are also possible with the filmmakers and/or cast. Even if you’re not interested in using the film as a fundraiser, it’d be great to just make your staff and membership aware of the movie, as it takes audiences inside a microcosm that is little seen and seldom understood. Ranging from deepest pathos to tender comedy to subtle introspection, YELLOW BRICK ROAD is an unforgettable experience, and we truly believe this is something your constituents would enjoy.
