Posted by BArb on 9/25/2004, 5:39 pm, in reply to "Chesterton OzFest" Chesterton gave the Munchkins new life in their later years and made them famous again. This is not what OZ is about, let us have our Munchkins Jerry and Karl back. If not for Chesterton no one would even know who they were. There was never a chance that the festival would be shut down. Problems happen all the time with these festivals. These people work very hard to keep this wonderful festival going and they need to be aknowledged for that, not put down because of a few that want to try to upset things and they know who they are! I for one am grateful to the hard workers...who all volunteer by the way. So instead of complanning about a few things that happen lets pat them on the back for all the good things that happen!

You sure have some of your facts wrong!
It was not the town that caused the problems.
For someone to demand so much money for their appearance and then over charge fans for an autograph...not only that but you couldn't even get a photo of them unless you bought something.
Why should these 2 Munchkins be treated any different then the others?
I know Jerry missed all the fans and the parade and farewell...hopefully he will reconsider and join us next year in his rightful place, along side Margaret, Clarence, Lewis and Donna.
The organizers have to have rules that apply to everyone. Why should people pay for booths and then someone just open a case and get money or make a little something and so around selling it? If you had put money out for a booth you would be singing a different tune.
