Jerry Maren as Mayor McCheese

So I have seen it listed on a couple of sites on the internet that Jerry Maren played Mayor McCheese in many of the McDonalds commercials. Is this true and can I get a confirmation of this? Also, are there any appearances scheduled for 2005?
