That is true. You dont want her to wear a dark colored dress. Try the Ivory dress with some pink ribbons/bows. Did you say it was a pink ?pageant?? ...
Just make sure that the Ivory color doesnt wash her out. If she has very light skin you may want to try a different color...just not brown...
I have judged for 15 Yrs and I just dont like to see the brown..it does not stand out on stage..
Whatever color you put on her should complement her complexion...just no dark colors or busy prints...
