It is not unusual to have a sensation of your heart racing when given any anesthetic or numbing agents. I know that when I go and use the gas I always have a few moments when I feel anxious and aware of my heart rate speeding up. Being on SS did not have anything to do with your experience. It was the drug. Remember, you are eating very healthfully now. The only thing you are not doing is filling your body with an over abundance of calories.
