Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. For months, I have read about others and their weight loss journeys and I often said.. gosh, that sounds like me and wanted to respond or comment, but didn't. I decided to now because I have allowed my weight to control my life, and that has to stop. I'm 5'9" and able to hide a lot of my weight from others, but not from myself. My health has suffered greatly from extra weight. I have had back surgery, gall bladder removal, knee surgery (tore my ACL and lateral meniscus) and this year my blood pressure got out of control (its been high for years) and became uncontrolled with medication. I am having heart surgery at the end of April to control an arrythmia. My cardiologist says that weight loss will improve all of my conditions and it has become a job for me to find the BEST diet to follow. This search began in january and ended today with my starting this plan. I had put off starting the diet due to the amount of potassium in the product and I was concerned about my K level going to high.... I also have conn's syndrome(adrenal gland disorder) which is a potassium imbalance and I take medications to raise my K level. I worry every day about that, so I've been kind of freaked about what goes into my mouth. All of my docs are thin and don't get that I have dieted my WHOLE life and still stayed fat. I diet to maintain my weight. My only memories of successfully losing weight were when I was a jogger. But I had to be obscessive about my exercise and my diet. I will do this and I thank you and the others that offered words of encouragement. I will read the board every night and use it as my inspiration to get through each day. The children can live on kid cuisines for a while!! Thanks again.
