I am having an electrophysiology study with an ablation and possible ICD (defibrillator)I HOPE NOT. I have ventricular tachcardia with several focal points originating from the right ventricle but my doc suspects at least one may be shooting from the left ventricle. I do not have heart disease, no high cholesterol or diabetes... just high blood pressure that does not respond well to medication. In other words, no known cause for the arrhythmia. All I can tell you is that I don't like it and the meds I take make me sick. I get off of them on Wednesday because I have to go 5 days without them so that everything is at its worse before the surgery and I am not looking forward to that experience. My carotids swell to the point that I cannot swallow and I have to lay down with an ice pack on my throat to feel better. But I am looking forward to getting this done so that I can exercise and get around without feeling so bad. Thanks for asking... I've been very nervous about it.
