I live in Louisiana. My doctor is William Bailey (electrophysiologist). He seems to be very good since he travels all over the world giving seminars on the subject. He is supposed to be tops in research for electrical problems with the heart.
AS for verapamil, I was put on Tarka 4, 240 for my BP and then when I couldn't get my BP low enough they added 125mg of verapamil to the Tarka... Tarka already had 240mg of verapamil in it. So I was taking way too much verapamil. I have a problem with calcium channel blockers and it sent me into full blown PVCs. I was like that from Thanksgiving through January 10. Miserable. As they got worse, I could not function daily. My cardiologist went into a panic because I was going into bigeminy pvcs and at a very high risk for sudden death so he sent me to Dr. Bailey. I have been seeing him since the end of February taking the flecainide and doing well until recently. I could continue as I am, but he said eventually the medicine will cease to work as well, which I have already noticed with a few breakthrough episodes. So I am doing the ablation.
