Now that I am getting all my pre-surgery exams and appointments done I am starting to feel the stress of what's coming. One thing that is consistent with every doctor and nurse that I meet with is that their eyebrows always go up and they always say "You are getting BOTH knees done at once?" when they read my chart. I have to admit it is starting to freak me out! I know it is going to be a challenge and assuming everything goes well with the surgery there will be some painfully tough physical therapy required to get me back on my feet, but I have to focus on the future and see this as a positive change in my life. Now that is is only 3 days away I am feeling a bit sick to my stomach and I am sure that by Monday I will be a stressed out mess but I have no choice if I want to maintain a good quality of life. I just wish it was 5 months from now!
Since I don't have a laptop I will not be able to respond to anyone for probably a few weeks. I will have a phone nearby however so please feel free to call me on my toll free number on the website. I will be in the hospital for 4 or more days and I assume that once I get home I may still not feel up to talking, but after a week home I should be good to go and happy to have someone to talk to!
