I know this article is lengthy and may be hard to understand in places, but I would strongly encourage everyone to take the time to read and study this. Even if you just have to go through it a bit at a time, it will be well worth it to your future health. So much attention is placed on blood sugar and diabetes and so little on insulin levels. This really explains how insulin is the main player in health, life span and disease and gives great advice on how to live a long healthy life...maybe to 100 or more! It also talks about insulin resistance, how it happens, and it's effects better then anything I could write. What you are all doing here in your efforts to lose weight will contribute greatly to your quality of life, but what happens after the weight loss? Being thin does not guarantee good health.
