This post is for all of you folks out there who read (and lurk in the shadows) because you are not doing well and you don't think your contribution will help anyone.
Well, this is my 10th day on Cambridge. Everything was GREAT right up until yesterday and then I don't know what happened? I didn't fall off the wagon, I threw myself off the wagon!! I had 4 cupcakes, two 4-ounce servings of Haagen Dazs strawberry ice cream, two frozen rice and bean dinners and an apple before bed. Whatup with that? This lapse came right after I had to write a LARGE check to the IRS for my estimated tax this year. I was miserable and frustrated, so I resorted to the only solace I am conditioned to find-----EATING!!
Don't let this happen to you! This morning, I woke and said to myself, "I really blew it. I'm going to have to start ALL OVER AGAIN!!" But, there was this teeny-tiny voice that also said, "Look, you are human, get your butt up and get back into this fight. Don't pity yourself, don't feel depressed. GET UP!" So that is exactly what I did.
I strapped on my sneakers and went to the park to walk with my bottle of water. You know, I felt GREAT after that walk. It gave me time to think about the entire Cambridge and dieting thing. We have to fight everyday and we have to continuously talk to ourselves about what we really want. Is it the taste of food or is it the feel of being thin and fit?
Yes, I've had one bad day out of 10, but today I am back on the horse and galloping. So, those of you who read the posts and feel that you can't do this. You really can. It just takes the right frame of mind. Sorry for rambling but stumbling yesterday gave me a new perspective. Do the best you can and you WILL succeed as long as you don't lose sight of the ultimate goal.
