actually, more like 2 1/2 days now :D Starting to get things packed up for our hotel night stay after the race, and of course starting to get things together FOR the race.
I've been visualizing the whole race, each day, in my mind. I'll put below an excerpt of what I wrote to some friends yesterday:
One thing I'm going to be doing tonight, and every night this week, is
visualizing the entire half marathon in my mind, before we do it this
Sunday.
I will visualize us finding a great parking place, and catching the
shuttle to the Starting line. I will see us with all the other athletes,
and will feel the excitement and anticipation in those few minutes before
the gun goes off. I will hear the music coming from my new headphones as
I power walk, enjoying the beautiful day. I feel the breeze on my skin and
love feeling how alive and glorious my entire body feels in motion. I'll
see us going through each mile marker, grabbing water and sports drinks
from the volunteers, and OF COURSE that wonderful tearful moment when we
cross that Finish Line. I'm even going to go further and visualize and
feel the "after party" of celebration with my fellow half marathon walkers,
and the drive to our hotel later.
Wow. I can see and feel it RIGHT NOW as if it's already happened. That
wonderful feeling of excitement is just one reason why visualization is
such an important part of any of our creations. Once we can see and feel
what we want to create, and can get our emotions into it, we will be more
able to create it just as we dreamed it.
If anyone wants to donate even a small amount to the Emergency Shelter, who is the charity we're in the half marathon for, here is the link, and thank you:
