The occasional slip now and then is teaching you something, even if it may seem like a negative move in the moment. Over time it gives you the chance to reevaluate how you handle stress and obstacles and in the process find new ways of dealing with them. If it were not possible to find alternatives, then everyone with demanding jobs and related social obligations would be overweight so you know there's a way. Some of us learned at some point in life that food was always good, whether it was to celebrate, grieve, relieve boredom or loneliness, or handle a stressful situation. It's like a little mental switch that is always turned on. The key is to find that switch and flip it to the off position and keep it there unless appropriate. It was a total surprise to me that most things in life really have very little to do with eating! Imagine that?! It was always my main focus. Now I rarely think about eating unless my stomach reminds me.
Just keep going Yvonne. When a slip up happens, take the time to evaluate it and decide if there was an alternative that you could have chosen and use it as a learning experience. It is possible to lose weight very rapidly with Cambridge, but it takes a lot longer to heal the cause of the obesity and we need to be patient with ourselves.
