Whether you succeed or fail, it begins with a single fleeting thought that you either reject or dwell on. If it is a commercial you see on TV or a billboard you pass displaying a giant greasy cheeseburger, you will eventually end up pulling in to the nearest drive-thru if you dwell on it. If you immediately turn away and say "NO!" in your brain you will learn to recondition your reactions to such stimulus. That's all advertising is after all, stimulus. Like Pavlov's dogs, we learn to salivate at the ring of a bell, or in our case, the vision or smell of food. Whenever I saw something that tempted me in the store or on TV I would yell in my head "NO! THIS is what I'm doing now!". May seem simple, but it worked. Now my first thought when I see something unhealthy is simply one word...death.
