I want to take this opportunity to clarify my policy of appropriate behavior on this board.
This is my board, sponsored, managed, and paid for by me. It is not affiliated with the company in any way and the opinions that I express here are my own. I do not represent the company's opinions, nor are they responsible for anything I say here. I do share information here that I gather through research on the subject of health and nutrition as well as alternatives to conventional medicine. I do not encourage anyone to ignore their doctor's instructions, but I do encourage them to question, research, and come to their own conclusions on managing their personal health. I believe it is time for people to take back their power in their own lives and stop blindly giving it to others who may not always have their best interests at heart. I also share my personal experience with natural healing and my path back to health in the hope that others may benefit from it.
I am not under any obligation to tolerate or support the small minded comments of those who are only interested in anonymously posting their garbage with the intention of harming others and then hiding behind a false name. If you want to post stuff like that, then don't be a coward. At least have the courage to post your full name and e-mail address so we can all personally let you know how we feel about it.
Everyone here is welcome to express themselves. However, insults, vulgar language, racists comments, swearing, cussing, and any other offensive behavior will not be accepted and will be erased. The poster will likely be banned and will no longer be able to post in this forum. This will be at my discretion. I don't like to ban people and do so only when it is obvious that the poster is going to continue on in his/her abusive behavior.
I don't expect everyone to always get along or agree with each other. However, I do expect a certain amount of maturity and tolerance when conflicts occur and for people to choose their words carefully so as not to offend. If you enjoy conflict and you are what can only be referred to as a "hit and run" poster then please take your comments somewhere else. There are plenty of boards out there that are full of people who enjoy that kind of mindless activity.
I ask that all religious comments be kept to a minimum. What I mean by this is to please keep in mind that we have all denominations here and not everyone welcomes lengthy references to specific faiths or beliefs. Request for prayers on someone's behalf are fine, but in the past we have had some that were offended by the more heavily religious writings and felt that it was being forced on them. We all have different belief systems and that must be respected. In the past we used the second board for personal non-Cambridge posts and for those of a religious nature, but it was not getting enough activity to justify the expense so it was converted to a distributor board. I don't want to start having the same conflicts that we have had in the past so please keep all things religious to simple requests for prayers keeping in mind that that means different things to different people. I hope that people here can appreciate the good will that is behind such postings and can take them in the way they were intended and not be put off or offended.
This also applies to the other hot subject, politics. I can't think of any reason for a political argument to ever occur on a weight loss and nutrition board but just in case, please refrain from the subject except in general references.
If you find a particular persons writings intolerable for your tastes, then simply don't read their posts. Why frustrate yourself by reading material that you know will push your buttons? Just don't read it!
It can be hard to read intent sometimes and it is easy to misunderstand the meaning behind what someone posts. Please preview anything you write and do your best to be sure it can not be interpreted in the wrong way and possibly offend someone.
The people on this board tend to form relationships with each other and due to the main topic here, that being weight loss and all things related to weight and health, they do become protective of each other. Most people who have dealt with obesity are used to a lot of abuse in their lives. The world is not a friendly place for the obese and we all have our battle scars and stories to share. I never want anyone here to feel threatened, judged, or intimidated in any way. If you choose to post something like that here you will likely cause some to get upset and defensive towards you. I ask that in the rare instance that an offensive post is put here that you all just ignore it and not respond. It serves no purpose to encourage these people and only rewards their disturbed need to create conflict.
We have a spell check feature on this board. It is a good idea to run a spell check before posting anything. It is my hope that the people on this board are sensitive enough to tolerate something as unimportant as a misspelled word, but to be sure that your post is clearly understandable please take advantage of the spell check feature.
Know this...no one on this board is better then anyone else. Education, income, nationality, culture, environment, family structure, political leanings, physical, mental, or emotional limitations, or any other thing that makes us each different and unique will not cause anyone to have any advantage over another. This board is solely for the purpose of offering unconditional support, encouragement, empathy, information, and inspiration for anyone who needs it. Abusiveness will never be tolerated.
Thank you all for you wonderful contributions and insights over the past 4 year! I appreciate your kindness and goodwill towards each other. Your support means a lot to me and I look forward to meeting here with you all each day. What we do here is not rocket science.
it is not going to cure the ills of the world..but in a small way each day it brings a sense of goodness to each of our lives and that can mean the world to those who are in need of understanding and compassion. Thank you.
