Posting, Cambridge and Monthly Weigh-ins Posted by Yvonne on 5/15/2008, 6:25 am 68.197.232.X Hi, everyone: You know, this Cambridge program is really tough. I have been trying to get back on the wagon since Mother's Day, only to keep falling off. There is a weekly weigh-in with Molly and I am scheduled for June 2nd. I have been distracted by new obligations and family concerns. I just wanted to post to let you know that I am trying again today to start SSing. However, there are three social dinners: tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. I say to myself, "Why get started when I know I have to eat with a group of people for the next three days?" I just don't know if it is worth it, but my ankles are swelling due to the retained fluid I have been accumulating because of my overeating. I know you don't want to hear this, but I think it is important to post when we are doing well AND we are not doing so well. It is a long journey and I need to stay on the path. This Board helps me stay focused. Thanks for listening everyone.  Post a Response

Don't let IT control you. Your health is too important!!! Even if you are going to an event, you don't have to eat the food there. If I go somewhere where their is alot of food or a party of some type....I practice my "Just say NO" routine. Drink Your Cambridge before you go and then when you get home. Take a bar with you and drink a lot of water while you are visiting with others. At this point you shouldn't give in to food. It has no real power. It is evil and you should think of it as the enemy right now. I really want to see you succeed Yvonne. Just get back in the saddle and conquer this thing once in for all. You have come too far....I know you have the power to do this!!!!  Post a Response

However, I am going to have to agree with Miss Molly. Losing this weight is way more important than self sabotaging all your hard work that you have put into this diet. We have to stop using justifications,excuses,life circumstances etc... that its okay to eat unhealthy. Right now I am in the midst of moving from one house to another,financial stress from moving, Middle school graduation,baby shower,end of the school parties,installation dinner, etc.... If I were to give into this,I would literally put back on all the weight I have lost. It is just not worth it to me. You may say sure Carol, you have more willpower or you are in maitnance, but the bottom line I am no different than you my friend. I have to self talk myself through these situations because I know that I am an emotional eater. And right now my stress level is through the roof. Again- I am taking the same stand as Molly ---- it is time for you to get to the finish line, and be unstoppable with it. BE POWERFUL with your COMITTMENT to yourself. TAKE CARE OF YVONNE!!! Nonie- I am thinking we need to give Pam some time to recup,but I am sure she would also welcome some calls.  Post a Response

This is your last hurdle!!!!! This is not about Carol or Molly being right, this is about Yvonne living a long and healthy life. Believe in your vision of getting to that size 8! This will happen if you stick to the program. And yes this is hard work, but with a positive mind set you can do this!! We will all be here to root you on!!! Re: Yvonne Posted by Sharon Elaine on 5/15/2008, 8:45 pm, in reply to "Yvonne" 69.76.48.X Well, I have to be honest in that I agree with what everyone has said.. but... ha I am leaving in a few days, and going on vacation to places I've never been before (San Fransisco, etc.) and my sister (and her boss) is paying for everything, and she has lots of fancy dinners planned. I'm totally going to enjoy all the meals and will get back to SS when I return. It may not be the bravest or best thing to do, but I don't want to miss that on my vacation. When I get BACK I will try that "making food evil" thing haha but until June 4th when I return, I am going to eat healthy, but definitely partake. We're also going to do lots of walks around San Fran., so I think that will even it out a bit. We'll see. This is also the trip where I meet my Australian publisher, etc., so I'm very excited about it. I've been working on book proposals like crazy lately and I should have FIVE of them to take to him. I wont' be on much now until the beginning of June, when I return, so DO GREAT EVERYONE! and I'll DEFINITELY be back to SS with anyone who wants to in June! (((((hugs to all)))))))  Post a Response

We have the awards banquet coming up plus we have been invited to 3 graduation parties!! (all next week) Hang in there Yvonne!! Has anyone talked to Pam?
