| Outside of the doll collecting world, do that many people even know about Integrity?

NONE of my non-collecting friends had ever heard of Jason Wu & Integrity before Mrs. Obama wore his dress to the inaugural ball. When I told them that he was the senior designer at Integrity Toys, they were amazed. EVERYONE knows who Barbie is & the perception of MOST people is that Mattel makes children's toys. It might not be fair, but it is what it is. It is easy to design & produce edgy, over the top dolls when your customer base is a very small group of adults. --Previous Message-- : AS an adult collector, I dont always want kid : friendly dolls. Sometimes I want dolls who : dont reflect mid-American values. I loved : the original Silkstones in their lingerie, : however , complaining none collecter made : them change the dolls to frumpy sleep wear. : : Ken was cool and very different. The name : was a little over the top but, they could : have easily called him something else or : made him only available through the Barbie : Collectors Club. : : I think its weird that Integrity has had two : Transgendered dolls (one with ummmm.... a VA : Jay Jay) and no one seems to bat an eye : lash. But when people call Ken gay, he gets : dropped. : : I'm more upset that they changed Caftan's : skin color. I loved her as a pretty brown : doll and now she has lighted up : : --Previous Message-- : The Silkstone Ken that was cut from the line : earlier this week. : : Are you disappointed? : Bummed out? : Indifferent? : : Let us know how you feel about the : situation! : : Inquiring minds want to know! : : :
