Hi Vernane & Dick,
I know that it has been years since we were in contact. Please accept the deepest sympathies of my family & I upon your loss.
I was at Living Word Church & Christian Academay with my three daughters. Rita was in the same Mrs. Amann's class with Tyler. I was the sixth grade teacher Bill Herzog likened to Sgt. Carter during one of his presentations about the Academy. What a wonderful influence the academy has had upon the lives of so many.
I remember when Dick made a presentation to the school in assembly about the life cycle of mosquitos. I always remember they are active through October. I remember the foster children who gave their lives to Christ as a result yours and your childrens' influence. I learned of Tyler's death through Sandi today. I know that it has been three nearly four years since his passing and am certain your lives have changed since his physical absence. His spirit lives on because of his relationship with Christ. Rita, his classmate is now an assistant vice president in commercial lending, Angie is now a licensed attorney, and Tiffanie bringing up the rear, is still trying to figure it all out. After our family left Living Word, I began attending college and am now a registered nurse with a master's degree. In recent years I made a return to teaching. I have viewed the documentary. Thank you for sharing Tyler's courage.
