I remember Tyler quite well from the short time we were friends. I knew Tyler when he went to Toledo Christian (I think he left TCS after the 5th grade).
I remember how funny he was. How he was kind to each class member. I remember spending the night and thinking how unusual your home was (in a good way) because of how you fostered children. I remember playing catch with a football, watching Pipi Longstockings, and playing Rampage (old video game)...a lot!
Having become a father in January, I have a taste of what the pain of death might be like if my daughter were taken away...and what I imagine now cannot match the reality of what it would be like. By God's grace, we have the hope of the Resurrection, and a loving reunion which cannot be matched here. The delights we'll experience will outweight the delights we have now, and will exceed the pain we feel now.
Psalm 36 7-9
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness,O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. 9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.
I am certain you will not remember me, but I wanted to say something because Tyler did touch my life, even if we were only 10 years old at the time.
The peace of our strong and faithful Savior be with you all.
