Tyler has officially graduated! Thursday evening was special! Dr. Carl Caldwell, V. Pres. of Academic Affairs, and his wife Carolyn, and Dr. Koene, head of the Foreign Lang. Dept., came to Tyler's room and presented him with his Bachelor of Arts diploma. He wore his cap and had his gown draped over him with his honor cords around his neck. He graduated summa cum laude. Also present were some former roommates, social club (Dativus) friends, and other college friends that drove here from Indiana and even as far away as North Carolina. Lots of pictures were taken and the family videotaped the ceremony. On Friday, Tyler began giving a list of friends from high school, college, and elsewhere that he wanted to come see him. Some called, but an incredible number of them came. He spoke with each of them, and they reminisced about past events and created new special moments together. During those days we also had special family times and did lots of crying and laughing. His sense of humor has continued. Our dear pastor and his wife have stayed here with us, and we've had worship times as well as a special service on Sunday morning. On Sunday evening he wanted to watch Alias and has been looking forward to watching the Lakers' game on Monday evening. He has been so alert and has been doing so well that we are making plans to take him home in the near future to Trinda and Mike's house with the help of hospice care. We are cherishing each remaining moment that God allows us to share with Tyler, and continue to entrust Tyler's life to Him.
