I just actually like the fact that the English are doing what they can to compete and stay in touch. Although it sounds like we were clinging on, and using less than sportsmanlike tactics, the message is clear - we will fight to the death...
That is what has been badly missing from english cricket for years and years, and I find it refreshing. Nathan H said it himself, the Aussies (if they had found themselves in such a beleagured position) would have done it themselves. I reckon this is kiddology from Ponting "ordinary" or not.
Lets get back to the sport though guys, and away from:
1. Our general take on Aussies that are not the white knights of sportsmanship they pretend to be (Haydon the "charitable Christian" being my favourite).
2. Poms being weak as piss - driving around in nice cars, and not wanting it enough
The fact is that in that test England played a lot worse than Australia, but still hung on. It'll be interesting to see which side has the momentum.
