I agree that his dismissal this time was forgivable. It was a good quality ball and I assume he hit it because he didn't seem to stick around at the crease or do any of the subtle "looking at the bat whilst walking off" tactics that would normally happen.
But his attitude before tea still didn't strike me as a man thinking "I need to stick around here to help the team" but "I need to score big runs with big shots to show everyone how great I am"....
It is amazing, however, that he can average 55 despite regularly getting out through ridiculous shots. Definitely a case of "if only..."
Question: If KP was still skipper, would be have a different attitude to his batting?
