Jesus, Paul. Trescothick has Separation Anxiety Disorder and clinical depression, an illness of the mind just as I dunno, emphasyma is an illness of the lungs. It's not about feeling a bit miserable, it's about being reduced to crippling panic through a medical condition that isn't wanted and can't be controlled.
Trescothick writes affectingly about it in his autobiography:
"My mind was pulling itself apart in a hundred directions," he wrote. "Then came the pictures in my head; specific, enormous, terrifying images. What was happening at home? Was Haley OK? Was Ellie alright? I couldn't distinguish between what was real and what I imagined to be real ... things, beings, beasts, bastards ... attacked in waves, one after another, each worse than the one before. 'Oh God, Please, make it stop. Oh go, please make it stop.'"
Sounds terrifying. A bit of sympathy would be the decent thing, I think.
