Mike, Sorry so long on this response. In theory once a system is "preassurized" is should be fairly consistenet no matter where it is measured. This does change some tho if you are measuring preassure before the filter or after the filter. The oil filter housing picks it up before the filter and will have a tendancy to read higher (maybe 5 - 10 lbs) that after the filter. Also depends on the filter as well. I have heard that some people like to have both readings and run 2 gagues. Kev
