GLD"
It is unclear what kinds of difficulties or frustrations your son is experiencing either within the classroom or in sports. It is also unclear what you mean by GLD - perhaps it is an LD term used within your state. In any case, assuming the school has conducted a special education evaluation, they should be able to provide you with clear recommendations for support and/or intervention, both within and outside of school. You may also find direction in the online LD self-advocacy manual posted on this web site. Although you can focus on the sections related to auditory processing disability, you may find that his needs are also reflected in other sections as well. Sometimes what may appears to be an auditory processing issue can actually be caused by other processing issues entirely. But again, you should probably seek clarification and direction from the professionals who actually tested your son.
