To all of you who are struggling or have struggled with the public school system regarding your child with a learning disability, I would love to hear your story. Whether it has to do with getting your dyslexic child the free and appropriate education they are entitled to or if your child struggles with executive function or if your child is just struggling to keep up and the school won’t test for a learning disability because they say the child must fail first, I want to hear your story. I want to know to what extent this problem is hurting our children.
I don’t know…call me idealistic or crazy or whatever you want, but I can’t sit back and do nothing anymore. I can’t understand the mentality of teachers who just turn their backs on these struggling children when we now have scientifically proven methods for helping these children. I can’t be the only one who feels this way.
If you or someone you know, even if you know someone who knows someone with a story, please send it to me. My goal is to get as many letters from as many moms and dads around the country as I can.
