First of all, a diagnosis of CAPD at such a young age is highly questionable. I would advise seeking an updated evaluation (preferably by the school) to determine his current needs. From your limited description I would be more concerned with a possible emotional/behavioral issue rather than a "processing" disorder. Although you say that he has many friends, his difficulty with transitions and need for routine could be symptoms of some form of anxiety disorder or autism spectrum disorder.
