You should take the male rat out **immediately**!!
I will be very surprised if you don't have 2 pregnant females. A male rat is most likely to kill the babies that are born - and even if he didn't, he can re-impregnate the female almost immediately after birth.
So....unless you want several thousand rats living in squalor in a few short months - you must *always* keep male and female rats seperate.
