It is the former Hustle guys writing this stuff based upon inside jokes within the teams past. One thing at a time here. Was I happy with how our season went absolutely not, from start to finish and everything including jersey selection, attendance and performance (including my own). Itís come to my knowledge that I was trying to rip off the guys which is insane. I had to make decisions based upon what I knew at the time and it wasnít until after the fact I learned of other avenues regarding uniforms. Iím probably the most generous person youíll meet and would give the shirt off my back for close friends and have given many my time and experience outside of softball. I even remember offering to loan a car to a teammate that was having car problems and being more than accommodating if more time was needed to pay up for softball expenses (although even that was a joke and taken advantage of at times). Anyone that runs a team knows that it costs money and for those who think they got screwed know I spent several thousand dollars of my own money because I wanted the team to work out and everyone have fun. I canít even count the number of times I defended my players from outside criticism and Iím sure someone on this board can contest even if it was correct I stood my ground and choose to play with friends. Coaching can suck, especially when making decisions regarding friends! Apparently they are mad bc I said they are making the same mistake (lacking personnel to be able to play a 5 man IF)? I donít know what games they have been watch but fact is we lost to zero teams that didnít play 5 man on the weekends and every single team we lost to played 5 man. Thereís a reason every good team in E and up does it! You need 5 IF ers! Another fact I didnít even have the worst batting avg amongst the starters, but yes the guy catching, writing a lineup (so inconsistent throughout there was rarely any trends toward who belonged where, outside of a few guys) and batted 3x/game sometimes only 2 bc we hit so poorly as a team, yes, totally my fault! Why are the guys still talking shit about me after removing myself from the team over 6 months ago, only reinforces my next point.
What is my fault is not only did I pick the wrong players (keep in mind this isnít all of my former teammates) I also picked some bad friends! So I know whoís writing this crap and about time you look in the mirror you ####ing losers! Two faced douche bags! I feel bad for those who donít have anything better to do than 180 on their friends on the net, in person, yep, unfortunately it has come back to me in several ways, Iíll choose to be a better person than that!
Iím very comfortable being a avg/decent rec player and ultimately itís just softball and I do it to have fun. I may never play another E level tournament again and Iím fine with that as unlike these former teammates, softball is far from the most important or impressive life achievement! Iím pretty proud of my play and in no means think Iím great. I went from pitching about 3 games in my life to surviving pitch on the most competitive night in the area. Due to personnel issues I took the risk and chance for the team, I donít know about you thatís the kind of teammate I would want! As any good coach would do when available I always at least tried to bring someone more experienced.
I think Indy Hustle is a perfect example of why new teams fail, railroads any potential talent into playing further, puts a terrible taste into those who enjoy the sport regardless of their skill level etc. Iím flattered my former teammates/ former friends find me so necessary to talk about but good god I took a chance to build something and it didnít work out thatís all that needs to be said.
