The bat didn’t roll and come to a rest at the fence, it bounced two times before it contacted the fence. Bowland was about 10-15 feet up the first base line when he released the bat and it hit the fence over by the third base dugout. Then one bad ass lsr wanted show how cool he was and broke his bat in two pieces hitting it off of the basketball goal multiple times. Some of the players on this team show zero class.
When bowland “tossed” his bat, it was as you explained one hand on the barrel and one hand behind the knob. But, it was thrown from up by his ear, similar to a javelin. Don’t make it sound like it was an underhanded toss so Randy could use it. It was the last out of the inning and they all have their own bats so there was no need to “toss” it to begin with. Every team all weekend was warned if you throw a bat and it makes contact with the fence, it was an immediate ejection, no questions asked. It was a mental lapse by Bowland after losing the first game. Yes lsr had the lead 2-0 in the second inning using one home run. The Amish were on 🔥. Does it suck that a state tournament had to end the way it did, yes. At the end of the day, nsa has some blame for not allowing them to play with nine, lacy has some blame for not knowing the rule himself and not being able to keep his cool long enough to get Hagy over there to get the correct ruling, and bowland has most of the blame for a brain fart. If you notice from the scenario, lacy didn’t argue bowland getting ejected until after he was told they couldn’t play with 9. He was willing to accept the he ejection because he knew the warning and knew bowland made a mistake.
Bowland was up to bat and hit a lazy fly ball to centerfield and yelled god bless it. He turned towards Davis, the on deck batter, and with his hands on barrel of the bat and one behind the knob, tossed the bat towards Davis. The bat hit the ground and rolled against the fence. Davis picked it up and Tina said we needed a substitute for Bowland as he was ejected for the bat hitting the fence. Wheatley and Tina stood at home plate and Lacy asked them if game was forfeit due to ejection and no substitute which they replied yes. He then began to argue the call and dropped some f bombs and was tossed out of the park by Hagy AFTER game was called. LSR was leading in the IF game too. An absolute black eye on NSA. Umpire in question is dating the UIC for NSA so she has free reign to be as ignorant as she wants. UIC started an altercation with Bowland after the game with Hagy standing right there from what I was told. Those are the facts.
From someone that was at the game. Can you explain what went down from the start of the altercation to the end ?!?!
