Even if it was read as someone taking a shot at someone the state director should not respond that way. He is the CEO of a business aka (USSSA/GSL of Indiana) you can't call people clowns or what they say clown comments/behavior. Very unprofessional. But that is just my opinion.
Sure looked like you took a shot at him to me...
Dear Mr. USSSA/GSL R/F
I first want to apologize to you if you took offense to what I posted this was not to be taken personally. Just a simple observation so instead of calling the post a clown and claiming this as a 'Gotcha Post' why not answer the question that was asked professionally.
I understand that every state is different and different parks charge for different things. So your answer of you run these tournaments at privately owned parks is a very solid answer. I understand that this is a business for you and USSSA and you must make money once the day is done.
As far as paid births ect. I believe it is a personal preference by each team on what they would want some teams would rather have the travel money to pay for hotels ect. But at the end of the day it probably all comes out to be the same.
Thank you for the response I apologize that you took is the wrong way and I am saddened that you had to respond with such a defensive way.
Giving rings for a state tournament is still laughable.
I was looking at some information up in Michigan and I found some interesting information. Michigan only charges 300 to enter the state tournament and balls are provided by USSSA. PLUS.....
1ST Place – Trophies – Shirts – Paid Berth to National Tournament
2nd Place – Sponsor Trophy – Travel Money
3rd Place – Sponsor Trophy – Travel Money
Why isn't Indiana USSSA doing something like that?
