The Challenge Cup is a great and fun idea - having 'all-star' teams from each state go down and compete against each other. However, the execution, at least in Indiana is very poor. We have people volunteer to coach and have full autonomy of choosing their teams rather than having some sort of criteria. What ends up happening most of the time is a coach taking 90% of his normal team and picking up a couple of their friends and calling it an 'all-star' team.
They should be required to take a certain amount of players from each of the top teams in the state. For example an E team should be something like 3 from Chicos, Stixx, and OSC. 2 from A&L and 1 from Money Shots (in recognizance of their runner up finish in the big state tourney). Then maybe 1-2 wildcards from other teams that are good players but may be stuck on bad teams.
