Here are the guidelines:
1. A player can appeal thru their player act on usssa.com
2. The appeals will be sent to myself, I will review the appeal and then send it to my Committee for a vote if it makes sense.
3. If you pass the Committee, it will then be sent to National for final approval. This can take 2-3 weeks. Please do not contact the Natl office or myself on the status , as we are busy submitting other player appeals. If approved, it will be changed on your player act, you will not be notified any other way.
4. If denied by the Comm, you will be notified. The process is then final and we will not discuss as to why you were denied. I do not even know, I just ask for a yes or no.
5. I process the appeals to my Comm every 1-2 days in batches.
In essence, if denied by the Indiana Comm, you will know pretty quickly, if passed by the Indiana Comm it will take 2-3 weeks for natl to finalize the process and there will be no notification, it is only changed on your player act.
Indiana/Ky teams for 2024 can have 4 elite players with 3 drops. We are aggressively looking to clean up the Men's E program nationwide, this may influence appeals.
The only time you may see a team with more than 4 elites is if a Team won a Team appeal, as then they all become Elite. There has only been around 1 of those in the past few years in Indiana.
The last day to appeal is Jan 31st.
Good luck to all teams in 2024.
Happy New Year,
R. Foltz
And Mike and I will be having a meeting with all the Coaches to help with any questions you may have for the 2024 season. This will a Q/A session for any USSSA/GSL topic. I would like to have this in person somewhere, but doing it online will get the bigger audience , so it will be zoom or a format like that. I will post that info soon.
