GREAT MEET! Thanks Rich, Tad, Devin, Jim, et. al. for another wonderful Colorado meet. I curled just over body weight on my 1st curl and then proceeded to miss my next two lifts. I admittedly was very angry with myself as the lift I made was almost 20 pounds less then I lifted in the last meet. I was on the verge of being a jerk: stomping around being angry etc. when a few words of encouragement, and wisdom, came from my friends, Richard, Roland, and Casey. And I remembered just how lucky I am to be alive, let alone being able to lift. I put my attitude and pride (not to mention stupidity)in check and began to enjoy the meet for the great blessing and true miracle that it is. I remembered just how grateful I am to a merciful God who has allowed me to compete when doctors said I shouldn't be able to lift at all. I remembered too just how wonderful NASA is and how much the support of my NASA family means. To have Rich say kind, wonderful things about me over the mic, to have my lifting idol Casey tell me I'm his hero (you need to raise your standards Casey), to have buddies like Richard and Roland cheering my every move and to have the support of all these great people along with Mary, Jeff, Dennis, Todd, etc. etc. is so incredibly humbling. THANK YOU to each and everyone of you and everyone at the meet who helped out, who cheered fellow competitors, etc. You made it a GREAT day (and how wonderful to have Jeff Miller back lifting after his heart attack-he exemplifies the NASA spirit and love of lifting). Great meet, great people, great experience this is what puts NASA head and shoulders above all other federations. THANK YOU all again and God bless each of you-NASA Rocks!
