This should probably go in the training forum but there seems to be a little more action here. I did my first curl contest ever last November, definitely need some help as I started with 175 and ended with 176, not a good gain for 10 weeks. I basically followed a bench cycle, sets of 5 for about 5 weeks, sets of 3 for 3 weeks, then a set of 2, then max. Seemed to go well thru the 5's, then with heavier weights and lower reps didn't seem to progress much. Part of the problem was I started trained picking up the bar from the floor, not stopping first, I was on track for around 200 but then once I started stopping that knocked a lot of pounds off. Nick Dwinell was kind enough to explain overloading for curls and I will try that. Any tips are greatly appreciated.
