Many of you know about my congenital heart issues and that I've now had over 30 operations. 5 months ago I went into acute organ failure and was rushed to the hospital where I underwent open heart surgery and a pump was attached to my heart to keep it functioning. After allowing 4 1/2 months for recovery I was placed on a the heart transplant list. I received a heart transplant on 9/11/18. I was told I would be in the hospital for 4-5 weeks, but the Lord blessed me with a rapid recovery and I was able to go home after 10 days. I'm now walking 3 miles 2x's a day and can start lifting in 5 more months (after my sternum is completely healed). I miss my NASA family, and can't attend meets until I'm further along and my immune system isn't so supressed to combat organ rejection. Looking forward to seeing you all again, keep lifting and stay strong. May God bless you all.
