Posted by Daisy The programmes we did never helped our B&B at all, and as we were always turning customers away anyway, we stopped doing it. Unlike a restaurant, if you're full, you're full, you can't squeeze another bedroom in as you can another table, or ask them to come back an hour later. I don't know much about the restaurant biz, but Ramsay does, and he could give you some pointers. You'll get four or five people trampling everywhere as if they owned the place. They will be sweet young things and charming as hell, but they will be wanting to impress GR, not you, remember that. You will end up feeding and watering them for several days. I hope this help you make a decision, sorry if I sound negative. I did actually enjoy doing the programmes, but it was a huge disruption

Alex, when we had the B&B about 9 years ago, we often got approached to do TV and we thought it would help business, so for the first 3 or 4 we agreed. First thing you should know is the huge amount of time involved. They want you to repeat actions and conversations several times, to cook the same meal over and over. Before you consider how it will help your business, please think about the disruption, wasted ingredients and above all, the days of your time you will see trickle down the toilet as you stand around waiting for the Great Man (he won't be standing around waiting for you, that's for sure)
