As I said though, Istan is tiny so you'll be able to find the Cavaleros Bar easily enough if you ask around - It's up a steep flight of steps, above the main street that you'll overlook once you're settled into the shaded veranda. Cavaleros in Istan, the tapas bar in which you always wanted to find yourself at the start of an empty afternoon.
I'm back from gallivanting in Spain and, further to my post below; I found a great little tapas bar sortofplace. If anyone's heading down that way it's definitely worth the ten mile trip up from the coast, along a twisty mountain road. It's in an tiny old hill village called Istan that has very little in the way of tourism, but dozens of public water pumps which pour out pure spring water. And narrow, steep little lanes which mean everyone has to leave their cars at the edge of the village. Just google it if you need a better idea.
Fantastic food, decent oil, friendly service, great views across mountain ranges, dripping with history, no picture-book menus, child-friendly, cheapcheapcheap and I think I saw Keith slumped in the corner too.
