I think Mary has a point. One of the good things about web sites such as Spy is that restaurants have the opportunity to respond immediately if they wish to correct errors of fact. But, too often, proprietors of various places that have had poor reviews feel that an honest expression of dissatisfaction is unfair, and either post their own completely unbelievable 'reviews', e.g. Sophie's of Exmouth (see below), or go into pit-bull mode, like these people from the Pot Kiln or whatever it's called. The term 'completely up oneself' springs to mind.
