Posted by Mr Useful on September 25, 2005, 9:33 pm, in reply to "Re: Crab and Winkle WHITSTABLE" Recently I've learnt that it has changed hands, for the worse it seems, as I have previously had a couple of very happy meals at the place. First rule in catering "Keep it Simple". Staff no, ethics yes. The owners seem to be confused. Other ethics to abide by are respect, dedication to the craft and striving for excellence. None are in place at this "restaurant" If you are visiting the area I would advise you to book Wheelers, Sportsman, WOFC, Jojos, Tapas in Harbour Street.
This is seriously the worst restaurant in Whitstable, possibly Kent. I like supporting local eateries yet was so shocked at the standard of food and service this place gets away with and the prices they charge, not to mention they now have a 12.5% Service Charge snuck on to the bottom of your bill, JOKE!
