Oh I could not disagree more. I am all for athletic but I can't see the standard being brought down to what a bull mastiff is. Mastiffs should be the biggest. That is historically how they have always been. Why breed such a big dog? Because they are supposed to be that way! I would hate to see "mini-mastiffs" on parade. That is not to say that I haven't seen some that are very nice looking but at 29 my b###h is taller then they are. And it's not to say that some of the shorter dogs can't fit the standard but when I think MASSIVE I don't think 29 inches and if we start breeding them small they will lose bone and MASS.
