Posted by rodsue Mastiffs IMO have their fair share of health problems within the breed, but I also believe them to be one of the best breeds on the planet to own. So I try to take the good with the bad as I suppose every breed owner does. Hopefully if you choose to own a mastiff, yours will reach 12 years with you. I'd say 10 is very good, but not the norm. If memory serves, 6 to 8 is somewhere around the average with many less then that.
