Posted by ladyblaise on 2/21/2005, 4:44 pm, in reply to "I'm looking for some basic dance instructions, and costume ideas!" as for costume ideas i am learning that even within my discipline, there are so many examples that i found it helpful to first identify dressing style for ATS. after that i spent a day surfing. i am glad i did. as a result i am forming a much more "ethnic" looking costume than i initially planned, and i am using more variety in textile and adornment than i would have first dared. i recommend the costume goddess's website to get you pointed in the right direction. she has a WEALTH of advice that is extremely helpful as you are beginning to plan your first costume. good luck!

have you looked into the discover bellydance series with veena and neena(basic dance, beyond basic dance, and mystic dance)? they are geared towards beginners. i find that they are helpful in giving me an idea to try new things as i learn about the dance (albeit i am focused on tribal) ![]()
